Full Job Details

Senior Application  Manager/Systems Architect required for a 3 month contract to deliver the following:

  • System lifecycle review and lay out principle for application management lifecycle best practice
  • Asses, advise and support with the implementation of new digital systems or make recommendations for upgrading/improving use of system functionalities to improve efficiencies.
  • Set of Roadmaps creation to support Departmental strategy and implementation
  • Support with third parties’ engagement and troubleshooting of issues when required.
  • Support business systems owner with digital business change implications of operational/transformational changes
  • Collate all software and digital system into one database management system and put in place protocols to ensure this remains up to date
  • Advise the business on new applications, supporting with the business case and purchase of such applications
  • Align lifecycle management with internal and external requirements (e.g., information security requirements)
  • Report back to relevant internal and external forum of changes, escalating issues as required
  • Keep abreast of new applications on the market
  • Support with new or existing policies, procedures and guidance documents refresh.

Skills to have would include:

  • Several years of experience in a technology environment (not necessary the NHS and not necessarily the public sector) at a senior level.
  • Educational backgrounds in information technology, computer science, or web design.
  • Experience with UX Designer, UI Designer, and Systems or application Developer. Experience and knowledge in system design, database management, and project/product management.
  • Focus on improving customer experience and business efficiencies
  • Able to manage staff, new application request, to engage with application/business users and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Would have budget management experience, workflow/process analysis experience and change management
  • Excellent communication skills (writing / verbal)
  • Professional qualifications such as TOGAF, COBIT, ITIL preferred but not essential
