Pharmacy technician required for a 6 month project based in the Merseyside area with the following skills:
- Experience of deploying and using EPMA within a trust especially with ICU experience
- Experience of JAC, Omnicell, software products
- Experience of EPR\Hospital system development
- Experience or paediatric prescribing
To assist in the management of all upgrades of the pharmacy software and ensure all software functions have been tested before going live, advising the Chief Pharmacist of any potential impact on the department.
To help manage the electronic prescribing files and parameters, continually auditing data integrity.
To help maintain the pharmacy system keeping files and access rights for staff up to date.
To help write, implement and review standard operating procedures for the pharmacy department in conjunction with the Chief Technician/ Patient Services Manager.
To liaise with software supplier, IT department and pharmacy in relation to all aspects of the deployment and management of pharmacy software.
To support the pharmacy team and the wider Trust to produce in depth reports on the pharmacy system and Trust clinical systems providing information to the trust for auditing, review and cost effectiveness of medicines.
To liaise with healthcare partners regarding e-discharge matters.
To support the Trust IM and T team with respect to Trust clinical systems:
To help input all information onto the Trust EPMA system and pharmacy systems: including new products, consultant codes and changing data.
To help ensure all housekeeping procedures are undertaken and check for any discrepancies and/or anomalies within Trust clinical systems and the pharmacy system.
Provide new members of staff with appropriate levels of access to the systems.
To be responsible for helping to ensure that all staff are fully trained in the use of the Trust clinical systems whilst helping to maintain password security at all times.
To assist the Pharmacy Team with I.T. issues and developments as per the IM&T operational plan
To provide reports for ward managers and consultants as requested by the IM&T team
To be involved and advise on planning and development of pharmacy services.The successful candidate will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS application.
